The Koyoju company in Japan has created the "Giraffenap" booth for people who want to nap while standing. This unique cubicle lets you take a short nap without needing a bed. The designers believe a 20-minute nap can reduce tiredness and boost mental performance, productivity, focus, and memory. The Giraffenap pods come in two designs and will go on sale in December. They are expected to cost around ¥3 million ($20,000).
According to the Giraffenap website, continuous work without rest leads to daytime sleepiness, and napping can make work more efficient and fulfilling. They suggest naps of 15 to 20 minutes, ending before 3 p.m., as well as not lying down as this leads to deep sleep.
